# Safety pauses

> Why a sender or a campaign paused on its own, the exact numbers behind it, and what Resume, Resume anyway and Turn it back on do.

We can stop sending on your behalf when few people accept invites, because LinkedIn can limit accounts when most people ignore them. This page explains the two pauses and how to get going again. These checks lower the risk, and they can't promise an account won't be restricted.

## Two different pauses

| | Sender auto-pause | Campaign auto-pause |
| - | - | - |
| **What stops** | One account, in every campaign that uses it | One campaign. Its senders keep sending for other campaigns. |
| **When we check** | Once a day | Once a day |
| **Invites looked at** | The sender's invites in the last 14 days | This campaign's invites from the last 14 days that are at least 3 days old |
| **Pauses when** | At least 20 invites and below 15% accepted | At least 50 invites and below 15% accepted |
| **Can you change the numbers?** | No | Yes, the percentage. See [Settings](#settings-for-these-pauses). |
| **How to restart** | **Resume sender** | **Resume** or **Resume anyway** |
| **Restarts on its own?** | No | No |

A pause sends nothing and loses nothing. People wait where they are.

## If a campaign paused

The campaign's status says **Paused**, with "Few accepted your invites". **Overview** shows **Paused automatically** with the real numbers and which invites they cover, for example "9 of 99 invites sent 3 to 14 days ago were accepted (9%), under the 15% limit". After a plain **Resume** in that time, it reads "sent since the last resume". Owners and admins are told by notification, and the campaign also shows on [Home](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/home.md).

A campaign paused for few accepted invites, with the numbers behind it.

Only connection requests this campaign sent are counted, one per person. Invites you moved in from another tool don't count.

These numbers can differ from **How it's going**, which counts the whole campaign. The banner says so, and adds what each button does: "Resume starts the check again from now. Resume anyway turns the check off for this campaign." If you can't use **Resume anyway**, it says only "Resume starts the check again from now."

First, check the invite in **Steps**. Then choose how to go on.

### Your two choices

| | **Resume** | **Resume anyway** |
| - | - | - |
| **Sending** | Starts again | Starts again |
| **The check** | Stays on. The count starts over, so only invites sent after you resume are judged. | Off for this campaign, until someone turns it back on. Other campaigns keep the check. |
| **Can it pause again?** | Yes, once 50 new invites are old enough and under the limit | No, not for few accepted invites |
| **Who can do it** | Anyone who can resume the campaign | Owners and admins |

Use **Resume** after you've fixed the invite. It's the right choice in most cases.

### Resume anyway

**1. Click Resume anyway**

It's on the campaign's **Overview** and on the paused campaign's row on Home. Plain **Resume** is only on the campaign page.

**2. Read the dialog**

It repeats the numbers and the risk, and says the campaign stops being paused for few accepted invites.

![Resume anyway dialog repeating the numbers and what changes](https://mintcdn.com/b2-b-signals-llc/u5yYe4FZtFc5vtD_/images/campaigns/resume-anyway-dialog.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=u5yYe4FZtFc5vtD_\&q=85\&s=064a6e7e0553aa8d923b56621ac7faa5)

The Resume anyway dialog.

**3. Confirm**

Click **Resume anyway**. The campaign runs again, and you get an Undo for a few seconds. Undo pauses it again with the check back on.

The choice stays through later pauses, resumes and step edits. The campaign's **Overview** shows **Not paused for few accepted invites** while it's in place.

> [!WARNING]
>
> With the check off, this campaign keeps sending even if almost nobody accepts, and that can put the sender's account at risk.

### Turn it back on

On **Overview**, click **Turn it back on** in the **Not paused for few accepted invites** banner. Owners and admins can do this. It doesn't pause the campaign right away. From then on, it's paused again if few people accept.

## If a sender paused

The sender's status says **Paused on its own**, with the reason, such as the accepted rate and the number of invites. Campaigns that use it stay running, and the people assigned to it wait.

We never resume a sender for you. Check what's going on, then click **Resume sender** in **Settings › Senders**. The button also shows on the campaign's **Overview**, in [Approvals](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/approvals.md) and in [Upcoming sends](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/upcoming-sends.md).

A sender paused for few accepted invites also gets its own row on [Home](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/home.md#paused-senders), with the numbers, for example "6 of 54 invites sent in the 14 days before it paused were accepted (11%), under the 15% limit", plus **Resume sender** and **Open senders**. Only owners and admins can resume it.

Resuming a sender doesn't restart its count. The next daily check looks at the same last 14 days, so the sender can pause again if it's still under 15%.

A sender can also stop for other reasons:

| What you see | Why | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Paused on its own**, after a LinkedIn warning | LinkedIn showed a warning, and **Pause a sender when LinkedIn shows a warning** is on. | Check the account on LinkedIn, then resume |
| **Paused by you** | Someone on your team paused it. | **Resume sender** |
| Sending on hold after an account was offline or restricted | It came back after a long disconnect or a LinkedIn restriction. | **Resume sending**. Invites [restart gently](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/senders-and-limits.md#after-a-long-disconnect-or-a-restriction). |
| **Needs reconnect** | The sign-in expired. | **Reconnect** |
| **Resting** | LinkedIn asked for a break. Invites wait, other steps carry on. | Nothing. It ends on its own. |

## What to do when few people accept

Few accepted invites often means the invite doesn't fit the people you're sending to. Places to look:

* **The invite.** Read it in **Steps**, or try a different note, or no note. You can [test versions](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/ab-tests.md).
* **The people.** Check who gets in under **Settings**, in **Who gets in**, and who's in the campaign's **People** tab.
* **The pace.** Lower numbers carry less risk. See [Senders and limits](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/senders-and-limits.md).

## Settings for these pauses

Owners and admins can change these in **Settings › Safety**, under **Pause on its own**. Other members can read them.

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Pause a sender when LinkedIn shows a warning** | On | Pauses the sender on a LinkedIn warning |
| **Pause a campaign when very few people accept** | On | Turning it off means no campaign in the workspace is paused for this, whatever each campaign has set |
| **Pause a campaign when acceptance falls below** | 15% | Under **More options**, from 0 to 50. Checked after the first 50 invites. 0 turns the check off. |

The sender auto-pause numbers are fixed.
