# Senders and limits

> Choose who a campaign sends from, and see the real daily limits, working hours, gaps and warm-up that decide when messages go out.

A sender is the account a campaign's messages come from. This page covers how to choose one, and the numbers that decide how fast it sends. Sender limits lower the chance of trouble on LinkedIn. No setting can promise an account won't be restricted.

## Pick senders for a campaign

**1. Open the campaign's settings**

Go to **Settings**, then **Senders**, and click **Change** or **Add a sender**.

**2. Tick the senders**

People are shared between the senders you tick, and each person hears from one sender.

**3. Save**

Click **Save**. If you clear them all, nothing sends until you add one.

**Manage senders** opens **Settings › Senders**, where you connect accounts and set each one's pace. See [Connect LinkedIn](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/connect-linkedin.md).

## One limit per sender

All campaigns share a sender's daily limit, so adding a campaign never adds sends. If the same LinkedIn is connected in another workspace, its daily limits are shared there too.

## Pace

Open a sender in **Settings › Senders** and choose a **Pace**. Changing it doesn't send anything. A new sender's slow start still applies until it ends.

A sender's panel in Settings › Senders, with Pace and More options open.

| Pace | Invites a day | Gap between sends | Weekends |
| - | - | - | - |
| **Safe pace** (recommended) | 8 to 15 | At least 12 minutes | No sending |
| **Balanced** | 12 to 20 | At least 8 minutes | No sending |
| **Custom** | Your own number, in **More options** | Stays as it was | Stays as it was |

On **Safe pace** and **Balanced**, each day's invite limit is picked at random inside the range, and it stays the same for that day.

### Limits for each action

Under the sender's **More options**:

| Limit | Default |
| - | - |
| **Invites a day** | Set by the pace |
| **Messages a day** | 40 |
| **InMails a day** | 40 |
| **Profile views a day** | 40 |

Likes and follows have their own limit of 40 a day too. A like and a comment on a post share one count. Each number can be from 0 to 100, and changing one switches the pace to **Custom**.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Above 40 invites a day, LinkedIn restricts accounts much more often. The page warns you and offers **Go back to Safe pace**. Lower numbers carry less risk, and no number removes it.

## Gaps between sends

Sends don't go out back to back.

* **Invites, messages and InMails** wait at least the pace's gap since the sender's last action.
* **Profile views, likes and follows** wait at least 4 minutes.
* A random extra of up to a minute is added on top.

In **Settings › Safety**, under **More options**, **Gap between two sends** sets a range for the whole team, and we pick a random time inside it. The range only applies once you save it. It can slow a sender down and never speeds one up past its pace.

## New senders warm up

A new sender starts at 5 invites a day and climbs a little each day until it reaches its limit, over 14 days by default. Change the length with **Warm-up for a new sender** in **Settings › Safety**, from 0 to 60 days. A setting of 0 means no warm-up. Warm-up only limits invites.

The sender's page shows the day it's on and the date it reaches full pace.

## After a long disconnect or a restriction

If an account comes back after a long time offline or a LinkedIn restriction, sending stays on hold until someone clicks **Resume sending**. Invites then restart gently:

| Days after resuming | Invites a day |
| - | - |
| Days 1 to 3 | 5 |
| Days 4 to 7 | 10 |
| Week 2 | 15 |
| After that | Normal limits |

## Working hours

A message goes out only when the campaign's schedule and the sender's rules both allow it.

| Rule | Hours |
| - | - |
| A campaign's schedule | The days and hours you set in **Schedule** |
| A new campaign, when you saved **Sending hours** in **Settings › Safety** | Starts with those hours. Campaigns that already exist keep their own. |
| A campaign with no saved schedule | The sender's own window: Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 18:00, Friday 09:00 to 13:00 |
| Weekend pause on the sender | Blocks weekends, even if the campaign's schedule includes them |

The time zone used is the campaign's if you set one, then the person's, then the sender's.

## How invites are kept low

| Rule | Default | Where to change it |
| - | - | - |
| Withdraw invites nobody accepted | After 14 days | **Unanswered invites** in **Settings › Safety**: 7, 14, 21 or 30 days. A step can set its own, from 1 to 60. |
| **Most pending invites per sender** | 600. Above this we withdraw the oldest first. | **Settings › Safety**, from 50 to 1000 |

## When LinkedIn says stop

If LinkedIn refuses more connection requests from an account, the sender rests for 24 hours. Its status says **Resting**. Invites wait until then, and other steps carry on.

If the sender's monthly allowance for invite notes runs out, later invites go without a note until it resets.

## Pause or remove a sender

| Button | What happens |
| - | - |
| **Pause sender** | It sends nothing until you resume it. Nothing is lost. |
| **Resume sender** | It starts sending again. |
| **Reconnect** | Shows when the sign-in expired. Nothing sends until you do this, and campaigns wait. |
| **Disconnect…** | Removes its sign-in, after you type its name. It leaves its campaigns, and people assigned to it wait instead of moving to another sender. People and history stay, and you can connect it again later. |

Senders can also be paused for you. See [Safety pauses](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/safety-pauses.md).

Only owners and admins can change the settings in **Settings › Safety**.
